South African preacher Andrew Murray famously said, “Beware in your prayers, above everything else, of limiting God, not only in unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do. Expect the unexpected things ‘above all that we ask or think.’”
My wife, Bev, and I have experienced this the past two years. When we first discovered her breast cancer had returned and was going to require a double mastectomy, we were privileged to be joined by thousands of followers of Christ around the world praying for her healing. Six months later, the cancer had spread to her bones, and for a year she experienced daily excruciating pain.
Then remission . . . then remission with more good days than bad days . . . then almost pain free.
We have another prayer request, this time for Jim Whorton, the Compass North Florida Director. Jim and his wife, Christy, are extraordinarily godly people. They have had a massive impact on Compass worldwide by their example and prayers.
Recently, Jim began to experience something usual: his eyelids wouldn’t open on command; it’s called Blethora Spasm. Many prayed for Jim’s healing, and the control of his eyelids is much improved. However, just as with Bev’s cancer spreading, Jim’s condition has migrated to his neck and shoulders (medical name for this is Bystonia) and in his words, “I have become a Bobble Head!” He can’t keep his head steady and erect, and is experiencing relentless severe pain.
Soooooo, would you please join us in praying for this amazing brother in Christ to be healed?
Thank you VERY much!
Warmly in Christ,
