Day After Day

This morning I was reading 1 Chronicles 12, and verse 22 says, “Day after day men came to help David, until he had a great army, like the army of God.” This entire chapter is devoted to listing by name those who voluntarily joined David to serve on his team.

They each served in a key role. Some were “among the warriors who helped him in battle” (1 Chronicles 12:1. Others were wise: “Men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do” (1 Chronicles 12:32). Still others provided the food and supplies that David and his team needed. “ . . . their families supplied provisions for them” 1 Chronicles 12:39.

I’ve often taught that one of the clearest indicators that God’s favor is on an effort, is by the quality of people He brings to serve. This is true whether it is a business, or church or ministry.  Thankfully we’re experiencing this at Compass. The Lord has brought us Steve Moore as co-host of MoneyWise along with a world-class production team. We’ve been blessed with an outstanding USA field team that is steadily growing. God has given us amazingly capable Continent and Country Directors in 48 countries. And the Lord is providing our needs through wonderfully generous people.

I am so gratefully that “day after day” our Lord is bring Compass the gift of the people we need to help accomplish the vision of teaching people God’s way of handling money around the world.

Warmly in Christ,

Howard Dayton
