Latin America Update

Is there any believer anywhere who shouldn’t learn God’s way of handling money?

In 1999, when Dave Rae joined us as our Chief Operating Officer, he had asked me to describe our long-term vision.  I responded, “Within ten years to have 12 million people enroll in what is now the Navigating Your Finances God’s Way small group study. Our goal would be for them to experience significant improvement in their finances and grow much closer to Christ.”

Dave nodded his head and quietly said, “I think we can do that with the talented people on our team. But is there any believer anywhere who shouldn’t learn God’s way of handling money? Why don’t we try to reach the world? I realize that no matter how capable our team, only the Lord can accomplish something this large.”

I spent three days last week in Morelia, Mexico, with Dave and the Compass leadership from Europe and Asia-Pacific. We participated in the Second Annual Pan-American Conference sponsored by MasVida (More Life) Church and Compass Latino lead by the remarkable Andres Panasiuk. It was incredible! People from all over Latin America learning about how teach others what the Bible says about money.

Here’s how I would describe these people:

  • Deeply committed to Jesus Christ and His word.
  • Very, very capable
  • They love their countries, their families and their churches
  • Grateful for us helping to provide them with the tools that have the potential to change this part of the world.

I want to invite you to join us in praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ who live south of our boarder. May the Lord be pleased to bless these amazing people in every possible way as they continue to follow Him.

Warmly in Christ,
Howard Dayton
