Bev Cancer Update 11.18.13

Dear Friends,

Our appointment for MD Anderson for a second option on Bev’s breast/bone cancer has been rescheduled for this week. She continues to feel great, although is more easily fatigued than normal.

We have received soooooo many kind prayers for us and her healing. We were especially touched by the prayer that a long time friend, Pat Morley, sent us. I hope you are moved as much as Bev and me when we first read it.

Our Dearest Father, Patsy and I join the throng of believers around the world who are praying for Bev and Howard. Grant them the wisdom of Solomon, the faith of Abraham, the perseverance of Joseph, the courage of Joshua, and the healing of Job. Lord, we implore YOU defeat this disease in such a striking way that you alone can get the glory.

We pray as Asa prayed when he called upon you in 2 Chronicles 14:11, “Lord, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. O Lord, you are our God; do not let man prevail against you.” Do no let this disease succeed against you. You are our ONLY hope. We so closely identify any hope for healing with you that this disease MUST go through your hands, and CANNOT win the battle without your express permission.

We entrust our sister to the good, pleasing, perfect will of you who are the one and only Almighty. In the powerful and precious name and blood of Jesus we humbly make our plea. Amen.

God’s Holy Spirit speaking through God’s people . . . what a gift to those in need.

Love in Christ,

Thank you for this beautiful prayer.  I am forwarding it to a friend whose husband has terminal cancer.  I will continue my daily, many times daily, prayer to our Father for Bev’s healing and upcoming appointment.  God Bless you both.

To those eloquent words, I add the only ones I can pray in times of deep need: Kyrie Eleison. Lord, have mercy. I lift up my friends and ask for your grace and mercy to pour over them as they seek healing, comfort, peace. Love you dearly, Howard and Bev.
