Prayer for Sasko

Dear Friends,

In February, I attended a conference in Berlin with the European Compass country leaders. I had the opportunity to sit next to Sasko for two meals and was drawn two him because of his obvious love for Christ and his passion to help his fellow followers of Jesus in Serbia learn God’s way of handling money.

Sasko is a very humble man whose sweet love for Christ and people is infectious. He and his family now really need our prayers!

Earlier this week a robber armed with a knife broke into Sasko’s home at a night. The robber threatened to murder Sasko, his wife and young daughter. A life and death struggle ensued and the robber lost his life.

I would ask you to join us in praying for two things for Sasko and his family. There is a new law in Serbia that regardless of the circumstances, when an intruder loses his life, the person protecting his family is sentenced to between 15 and 30 years in prison. Please pray for The Lord to allow Sasko to go free.

Second, he is devastated over taking another’s life and is not eating. Please pray that the Lord would allow him to understand this was purely self defense in protection of his family.

Praying for God’s people in prison pleases The Lord! thank you so very much!

Love in Christ,
Howard Dayton

It is hard to believe that there are places where this treatment can happen. Lord save us!
We are praying not only for Sasko, but for all those who suffer persecution in the World.
    Hurry back, Lord Jesus.

  3. Vickie says:

Lord, I lift up Sasko and his family in prayer that you would favor him and remove any condemnation that the enemy might be setting them in as this tragedy was not premeditated by them. Give them your freedom and peace both in the eyes of the law and in their spirits. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
